GENERAL

Neighbours From Hell in Britain (NFHiB) records access of all visitors to all its website areas and forum. Your IP address is recorded through an automatic process on our web server logs. From the server logs, details of page access, number of visitors and other statistical data can be viewed. We use this information to gauge the popularity of sections within the website and use the details to develop, design and assess all areas of Neighbours From Hell in Britain.

We may also use this data to track or prevent abuse, 'hacking' attempts or any illegal activity on the NFHiB server. Where we discover any such attempts, we will notify the relevant ISP's that refer to such IP addresses and insist that those ISP's take relevant action within their own terms of service.

Neighbours From Hell in Britain reserves the right to remove, edit or permanently delete any forum board message, feedback submission, article comment or similar at any time. The site administrators offer all parts of the NFHiB website and forum on a totally free to access basis and we have a duty to remove any forum post or comment left via any of the NFHiB 'communication methods' (some as previously mentioned), which we deem to be abusive, libellous/false or inappropriate in any manner.

INFORMATION SHARING

Neighbours From Hell in Britain collects your e-mail address (that must be valid) when you sign up to the forum board. These e-mail addresses are never used to send unsolicited e-mail to forum board members ('Spam'). NFHiB is against all forms of spam e-mail and will never release your e-mail address without your prior permission to any third party.

Similarly, Neighbours From Hell in Britain will never sell or disclose any information about you with any other third party service without your strict prior permission.

We use return e-mail addresses to answer the e-mail we receive (e.g. via direct e-mail contact or through any of the NFHiB Online contact areas). Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

COOKIES

Neighbours From Hell in Britain may set and access Cookies on your computer (e.g. by using the Forum Board, Online Voting, etc). These are often required by many internet sites to enable visitors to access a full range of personalised online services.

THE NFHiB FORUM COMMUNITY

Your privacy and confidentiality on the forum community is very important to us. For this reason, although we ask that you register using a valid e-mail address, you do not have to use your real (full) name on the forum message board and we advise you not to. To retain your anonymity you can register using a nickname or if you absolutely prefer, your real name.

It is also your choice whether to reveal your own e-mail address to any other member on the forum (e.g. if you use the online forum e-mail to contact another forum member, your e-mail address will be shown to them) - they are not publicly displayed unless you choose to do so.

Inappropriate or offensive forum member names will be edited without notice or the member asked to choose an alternative.

We would ask that all NFHiB Forum members who are currently involved or have been involved in legal or other proceedings with specific organisations, local authorities, groups, individuals or any other applicable persons, not to directly name those persons or organisations. This is to protect both NFHiB members and NFHiB from any possible legal repercussions.

Names should be omitted or anonymised wherever possible. The NFHiB Support team may edit forum board posts where this guideline isn't followed.

Your Options to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences on the NFHiB Forum Board:

You may edit or delete any Forum Profile information at any time by accessing 'My Controls'. From within the options available there, you can edit personal profile information, access settings for posts/personal-messages (PM) notification, manage subscriptions and change other options.

The board administrator reserves the right to e-mail all members simultaneously and in certain circumstances can override your personal 'My Controls' settings for 'Send me any updates sent by the board administrator'. This is only used for important messages and announcements, to ensure all current forum board members receive the information.

Should you wish to delete your NFHiB Forum board account, please e-mail with your deletion request. We may take further steps to verify your identity after such a request to delete a forum account, to ensure that this request is valid and has come from you.

We reserve the right to act as we deem fit in circumstances where a forum board user has been banned and moved to a restricted member group for breaching forum board guidelines. If you have been banned from the NFHiB Forum board for inappropriate behaviour and/or circumstances, the NFHiB Support team will act uniquely in each circumstance and make a majority team/joint decision regarding each banned members forum account.

IMPORTANT: If your NFHiB Forum Board account has been banned or restricted permanently, or you have left of your own accord/or have no further use of the free message board service, you may contact us to request that we remove/delete all of your forum board posts (messages) to date. To do this, you must contact NFHiB@nfh.org.uk. We will not take any such action without receiving an e-mail request and we will take further steps to confirm your identity first as necessary, before any action to permanently delete posts is taken. This is good practice on our part. After taking any necessary security precautions, we will then delete all posts belonging to a past member within a reasonable time period.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

Your Neighbours From Hell in Britain forum account is password protected, only you have access to that password and we can not view your password or e-mail it to you (they are stored securely in the database in an encrypted fashion, using 'MD5' encryption). You can change your password/e-mail settings for your forum account at any time by following the automated online instructions (e.g. to change e-mail address when logged on to the forum, follow the link to 'My Controls' and then select 'Change E-Mail Address').

You must not allow any unauthorised access to your forum account. The security of your forum password is your responsibility and we advise you to change it regularly and keep it safe and secure.

If you have lost your password you can have this reset by following the password recovery procedure (automated process), available via the main forum community index.

Forum E-Mail Settings: You can choose to show or hide your current e-mail address to other forum users, within the Neighbours From Hell in Britain forum. Do this by accessing 'My Controls' and then selecting 'E-mail Settings'. The option 'Hide my e-mail address from other members ' is then accessible and you can choose your preference.

Be Aware: If you e-mail another forum member using the online e-mail facility from within the forum, your e-mail address will BE DISPLAYED to the receiver of your e-mail. Therefore, do not send e-mail to forum members who you do not wish to know your e-mail address.

You are encouraged to make full use of all personal settings in the 'My Controls' area in the NFHiB Forum.

You should always be aware that if you voluntarily disclose Personally Identifiable Information on forum message boards or other publicly accessible areas etc, that information may be viewed publicly. This can be collected and used by third parties without our knowledge or control and may result in unsolicited messages from other individuals or third parties. Such activities are beyond the control of Neighbours From Hell in Britain and this privacy policy, although the website administration team will attempt to remove or edit such inappropriate information as soon as possible to reduce the possibility of this occurring.
